Automation with judgement

The best AR automation knows when to stay quiet.

• Exclude whole clients. Add a client to the Client Exclusion screen and every one of their invoices is skipped — current and future.
• Exclude individual invoices. One sensitive invoice on an otherwise normal client? Exclude just that one.
• Exclude by matter type. Matters paid at a future event — conveyancing at settlement, probate on will settlement — can be excluded wholesale.
• Nothing slips silently. Excluded invoices are clearly visible as skipped, so you always know what the system deliberately didn't chase.

Who firms typically exclude

1. Long-standing referrers

   The client who sends you three matters a month doesn't need a form letter about an invoice.

2. Matters with payment events

   Where payment is contractually tied to settlement, a reminder is noise.

3. Sensitive situations

   Estates, disputes between former partners, financial hardship — sometimes the right reminder is a phone call.
